vista reminders

this is a reminder for vista users

save important files and information
to a cd/dvd or flash drive
copy important files to my documents folder

delete cookies and temporary files
after every online transaction or communication
(ie v8) go to safety tab
click on delete browsing history
put a checkmark on all the boxes
and click on delete

update and run windows update
click on control panel
click on windows update
click on check for updates..wait for download to finish
then install updates

update and run windows defender
click on control panel
click on windows defender
click on scan..it will normally do an update before scanning
wait for scan to finish..if there is spyware it will give you a report
then select and delete the spyware

update and run antivirus (avg free edition )
dbl click on avg
click on update now and wait for updates... till finish
click ok
click on computer scanner
scan whole computer and wait...till finish
click ok
to look at the viruses in quarantine
go to history...click on virus vault
delete / empty vault to delete viruses
restart
