xp reminders

this is a reminder for all xp users

save important files and information
to a cd/dvd/flash drive
copy all important files in my documents

delete temporary files/cookies
after every secured transaction
(ie v8) click on safety tab
click on delete browsing history
put a check mark on all boxes
click on delete

update windows
go to control panel
click on automatic updates
go to windows update web site
wait for updates to finish
it will normally ask for a restart
if it does not ask
do it anyway to apply the updates

update and run antivirus (avg free edition )
dbl click on avg
click on update now and wait for updates... till finish
click ok
click on computer scanner
scan whole computer and wait...till finish
click ok
to look at the viruses in quarantine
go to history...click on virus vault
delete / empty vault to delete viruses
restart after the scan
